Introducing One-Piece Fleece

Traditionally in order to achieve one fabric with two kinds of yarn material, we will bond two fabrics together with hot melt adhesive. For example, we can bond Cotton Rib with Sherpa Fleece, or bond Super Soft with KS Velvet.

Concerns of Bonding

Bonding is easy and convenient, but customers may be worried that the adhesive material will release unhealthy substances. To address the concern, we have started to design a new technique called "One-Piece Fleece".

One-Piece Fleece

One-Piece Fleece is by definition one-piece in nature. During the process of knitting, we knit different yarns together to create the one-piece effect. Let's take the One-Piece Chenille Shu Fleece as an example.

Chenille One-Piece Shu Fleece

Traditionally, if we want to achieve this effect, we will need to bond one Chenille fabric with one Sherpa Fleece using hot melt adhesive. Hot melt adhesive is a kind of glue but more environmental-friendly than normal glue.

Benefits of One-Piece Technique

Environmental-Friendly

The One-Piece knitting technique can reduce the glue content to 0% and still have a similar look and handfeel as the bonded fabric.

Handfeel Improment

Besides, bonding using adhesives may make the fabric stiff, but the One-Piece fleece always feels very soft.

Cost-Saving

Currently, due to limited number of One-Piece knitting machines, One-Piece fleece fabrics are more expensive than bonded fleece. But as the number of knitting machines increase, price of One-Piece fleece will be lower than bonded fleece, because it can eliminate the bonding process thus leave out the extra step.
